La Circoscrizone di Variglie si estende per circa 5 chilometri quadrati nella zona sud del territorio frazionale di Asti.Questa località da cui svetta il castello si trova a 4 chi-lometri da Asti, nel territorio compreso tra la pianura formata dal fiume Tanaro e dal torrente Borbore,e le colline.Sin dagli albori della civiltà,que-sta terra,ricca di prati,campi,vigneti e persino uliveti,si è prestata allo svi-luppo dell’agricoltura. Nel corso dei secoli questa gente ha potenziato il lavo-ro dei campi e dei colli,raggiungendo un’ottima qualità di prodotti vinicoli e cerealicoli,come dimostrano le numerose aziende sorte negli ultimi tempi.E’ possibile osservare animali da pascolo,vigneti,campi di grano e di mais,prati estesi dove spesso lepri e fagiani approfittano dei divieti di caccia per met-tersi in mostra.La zootecnia trova qui un luogo ideale per tradizione e cul-tura nell’allevamento della Razza Bovina Piamontese:i numerosi premi otte-nuti in rassegne provinciali e nazionali indicano che gli allevamenti di Variglie sono un valido biglietto da visita per la zootecnia astigiana.L’annuale fiera zootecnica che si svolge nel mese di giugno sta inoltre diventando un importante punto di riferimento per gli allevamenti della regione.Prodotto tipico e di grande interes-se e pregio,oggetto di uno studio agronomico finanziato dal Comune di Asti e portato avanti dall’Università di Torino, è la pesca varietà limonina,così chiamata per la sua forma simile all’agrume.Questo frutto,molto profumato e con poco succo è particolarmente adatto ad essere conservato sciroppato:ad esso è dedicata l’annuale manifestazione Calici di Stelle che si svolge intorno al 10 di Agosto per celebrare il vino ed i prodotti tipici locali.Dal lontano 1159,quando venne riconosciuta possesso giuridico del Comune di Asti,Variglie seguì tutte le vicende storiche del capoluogo.Il fatto più eclatante svoltosi in questa località è il Trattato di Pace tra Spagnoli e Savoia che pose fine alla I Guerra di Successione per il Monferrato e che si svolse nel locale castello il 21 e 22 giugno del 1615.Come succede per tutte le località,Variglie non è solo storia e lavoro,ma anche allegria e feste,animate dall’attività della locale pro-loco,costitui-tasi nel 1995.Negli anni il gruppo è cresciuto,si sono ristrutturati i locali della sede in prossimità della chiesa parroc-chiale,e partecipa sempre di più alle manifestazioni popolari della zona,organizzando numerose feste,tra cui spicca-no La Rievocazione Storica del mese di Giugno con oltre 200 figuranti e la contemporanea rassegna di prodotti tipici Genuina.Da alcuni anni inoltre,un gruppo comico dialettale “I Varigliesi”integra le numerose attività della pro loco.

The district of Variglie extends for roughly 5 square kilometres in the south of the Asti territory.
This locality from which the castle stands out is located 4 kilo-metres from Asti,in the territory between the Plain formed by the Tanaro river and the Borbore stream,and the hills.Since the dawning of civilisation,this land full of meadows,fields,vine-yards and even olive groves,has been used for agriculture.Over the course of the centuries these people have developed their work in the fields and hills, achieving an excellent quality of wine and cereal products.The visitor can see grazing animals, grape vines, field of wheat and maize, wide grassy meadows where hares and pheasants take advantage of the ban on hunting to show themselves.
Animal husbandry finds here an ideal location for the tradition and culture of breeding the Piemontese Cattle Breed: the numerous prizes won in provincial and national exhibitions demonstrate that the breeding farms of Variglie are a formidable representation of livestock technology in the Asti territory. A typical product of considerable interest and prestige and the subject of an agronomic study funded by the Municipality of Asti and carried out by the University of Turin, is the pesca varietà limonina (lemon variety of peach),so called because of its similarity to the appearance of the lemon.This very aromatic fruit with little juice is especially suitable for preserving under syrup: the annual 'Calici di Stelle' event is dedicated to this fruit and takes place around the 10th August to celebrate the wine and typical local produce.Since long ago 1159,when the Municipality of Asti was awarded juridical possession of it, Variglie has followed all the historical events of the Provincial capital.The most sensational fact that took place here was the Peace Treaty made between the Spanish and Savoy which put an end to the I War of Succession for Monferrato and which was signed in the castle on 21st and 22nd June 1615.Variglie is not just work and history,but also fun and festivities,orga-nised by the local Tourist Board which was established in 1995. The group has grown over the years, and participation in popular events in the area is on the increase,with many festivals being organised, among which the most notable is the Historical Pageant in the month of June with over 200 characters and the contemporary show of genuine typical products.

Der Bezirk von Variglie liegt im Sudteil der Ungebung von Asti und er hat ungefähr 5 km Umfassen.

Variglie liegt 4 km entfernt von Asti zwieschen dem Fluß Tanaro und dem Sturzbach Borbore und den Hügeln. Das Land wird von vielen Betrieb angebaut und produziert Wein und von Getreiden von hoher Qualität. In dieser Zone findet man Weide,Weinberge,Getreide- und Mais- Felden. Hier werden reinrassige Rinder aus Piemonte guzuchtet, dank denen die Betrieben viele Preisen in nationellen Kundgebungen gewonnen haben.

In den Monate Juni jedes Jahr findet ein wichtiger Viehmarkt statt.

Ein besonderer Produkt dieser Zone ist der Pfirsich limonina, der für seinen Form wie ein Zitronen so genannt wird.Dieser Obst richt sehr stark und wird oft eingemachtes eingekocht: an diesen Obst wird die Kundgebung “Calici di Stelle“ den 10. August gewidmet.

Ein wichtiger historischer Ereignis wurde den 21. und 22. Juni 1615 die Unterschrieft von dem Friedensvertrag,der in dem Schloß von Variglie nach der Ende des ersten Erbfolgekriegs von Monferrrato geschehen ist.

Die Pro-loco des Dorfs, 1995 gegründet, organisiert viele Feier, z.B.die historische Erinnerung (im Juni) in den selben Tag findet die Fiera Genuina di San Landolfo statt, wo typi-sche Produkten verkauft werden Den letzten Woche in August wird die traditionelle Speise durch die Schutzpatronenfeier : gemischte Fritüre aus Piemonte. Die Zutaten sind verchiedene Sorte Fleisch: Lunge, Hirn, zusammen mit Apfelscheiben, Möhren und süßer Grießbrei...

Dazu muss man einen vollen Wein trinken.

La Circonscription de Variglie s’étend sur 5 kilomètres carrés dans la zone sud du territoire fractionnel d’Asti.
Cette localité,où se dresse le château,se trouve à 4 kilomètres d’Asti, dans le territoire compris entre la plaine de la rivière Tanaro et du torrent Borbore et les collines.
Au cours des siècles, les habitants ont potentialisé le travail des champs,en rejoignant une meilleure qualité des produits viticoles et céréaliers, comme le démontrent les nombreuses entreprises des ces dernières années.Il est possible d’observer les animaux de pâturage,les vignes,les champs de blé et de mais,les prés étendus où souvent les lièvres et les faisans font leur apparition.Ici la zootechnie trouve un lieu idéal pour l’é-levage de la race bovine piémontaise:les nombreuses récom-penses obtenues dans les expositions provinciales et nationa-les indiquent que les élevages de Variglie sont un billet de visite valable en ce qui concerne la zootechnie.
La foire zootechnique annuelle se déroule en juin et devient un important point de référence pour les élevages de la région. La pêche variété ”limonina”, appelée ainsi pour sa forme similaire à l’agrume,est le produit typique et de grand interet, objet d’une étude d’agrumes financée par la Commune d’Asti et poursuivit par l’Université de Turin. Ce fruit,peu parfumé et peu juteux,est particulièrement adap-té à la conservation sirupeuse. Chaque année la manifestation Calici di Stelle du 10 août célèbre le vin et les produits locaux.En 1159,lorsque Variglie fut reconnu possession juri-dique de la Commune d’Asti, le village suivit alors tous les événements historiques du chef-lieu.
Le fait marquant de cette localité fut le traité de Paix entre l’Espagne et la Savoie qui donna fin à la Guerre de Succession pour le Monferrat .L’accord se déroula au château local le 21 et 22 juin 1615.
Variglie, n’évoque pas seulement histoire et travail, mais aussi allégresse et fêtes,organisées par le syndicat local con-stitué 1995.Avec les années le groupe s’est élargi,les locaux du siège se sont installés à proximité de l’église,et il partici-pe de plus en plus aux manifestations populaires,en organi-sant de nombreuses fêtes, dont “La Rievocazione Storica” du mois de juin avec 200 figurants et l’exposition contemporai-ne des produits typiques naturels.
